Newmarket's Craft Brew Scene
Newmarket might not be the first place you would think to check out for an up-and-coming craft beer scene…but it should be! Whether you are looking to sample a flight or get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the brewing process, Newmarket has everything you could ask for to satisfy the craft beer fans.
Arch Brewing Co.
As a family business, Arch wants its customers to feel like part of their extended family and they are doing just that! The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the beers are tasty. People are flocking to Arch to get a taste of their unique beers that pay tribute to Ontario’s culture – quirks and all. Sip on Dinner Jacket O’Red IPA or try the ultimate Canadian beer - Timmies Coffee Brown. It’s the perfect place to grab an after work drink or catch up with old friends over a beer and an intense game of Jenga. If you don’t have time to sit down you can choose from bottles, growlers or mini growlers to take home with you. Be sure to check out our friends at Arch and their great selection of beers, eh! (We couldn’t resist)

Market Brewing Co.
Market Brew has quickly developed a reputation as being a place with good vibes and even better beers. While it’s a big venue that can accommodate a big crowd, Market Brewing Co. has a cozy-feel and a ‘Cheers’ like atmosphere where all are welcome, including your dog! There really is something for everyone at this place – trivia nights, comedy shows, really good live music, painting, sign making, theme parties, pop up kitchens and of course a lot of beer drinking. Try local favourites like the Bear Hug (which is creating quite a name for itself) or the the Leslie Street Pale Ale…or both. If you call ahead, you can take a free tour on Sundays at 3 p.m. Share a laugh, a song, a joke and a beer at Market Brewing Co. – where everybody knows your name. www.marketbrewingco.com
Hungry Brew Hops Public House and Eatery (HBH)
Something’s always brewing at Newmarket’s first gastropub. The mantra at HBH is to serve really good, honest food with some really good, craft beer…and they don’t disappoint! The rustic urban décor actually includes 99 bottles of beer on the wall. On any given day you can choose from about 30 different craft beers on tap. The beer menu is constantly changing, providing the opportunity to highlight many tasty local craft beers and breweries. You can even join the Mug Club which includes a personal mug with inscription, storage locker, free monthly pint, discounts and more. It’s hard to decide what tastes better the beer or the food? You will have to make the call.

This is only a sample of what that Newmarket has to offer. Many local restaurants, bars and pubs have an eclectic variety of craft beers to choose from. Why not start your pub crawl today? Cheers to beers!
P.S. Always remember to take public transit, order an uber/taxi or bring a DD along. Please don’t drink and drive – it’s never okay.
