Social media comes together to save a baby duck!

I am such an animal suck. Like I love them so much that on my first date with my partner, while I was trying to be super cool - I saw a golden retriever crossing the street and basically lost my mind trying not to run up and steal the little doggo.

So when, Erin Wynn of Newmarket posted on social media yesterday that she had found a mother duck on a storm sewer, desperately trying to get to her baby duck who was IN the storm sewer - my heart just about exploded.  By the time I saw the post - people were sharing the mother duck and baby duck had been re-united.

The whole story came out this morning and I'm a giddy animal loving mess over here!

As the story seems to go - Erin was walking her doggo in the Stonehaven neighbourhood yesterday morning when she saw Mama Duck hanging out on the storm drain and refusing to leave. When Erin further inspected she found that Baby Duck had fallen in.  Erin took to social media to get some assistance and a Newmarket employee saw the post on social media.

In comes Duck Rescuer extra-extraordinaire Trevor Noddle who volunteered to respond.  Mr Noddle clearly has a McGuiver streak because he fashioned a duck rescue apparatus out of a bucket and was able to rescue Baby Duck immediately!!!!   Mama and Baby have been re-united and Newmarket once again shows the power of positivity and community spirit! #iheartnewmarket
